Fintastic!

Yes - tuatara do wear togs! Our Year 5 children enjoyed a day at the pool in the annual College Swimming Event. Each of our students swam in at least one race, with some children swimming in every Y5/6 race - and even taking on Y7/8 in a relay challenge at the end of the day!

It was such fun to cheer everybody on, including parents and teachers. Tuatara - you were all wonderful today. It was marvellous to see how well you did, especially those of you who were so brave in conquering your fear of water. Well done!

Roll Up! Roll Up for the Roundabouts!

The challenge was on to create as many numbers as possible from 2 or 3 dice, then round each combination to the nearest ten or hundred.

Skeleton Squad

Year 4 had their science detective hats on when investigating why different animals had developed different skeletons.

Let the fun begin!

Hi Tuatara Class,

For those interested in joining our basketball squads this year, please remember to return your letters by Friday 12th February so that I can sort and enrol teams. We are hoping to run teams at all year levels again, following on from our success last year!

Also this week, we have Y5 taking part in the School Swimming Tournament (Thursday) and on Friday it is the annual Primary and Y7/8 Beach Picnic at Shakespear Park. Permission slips and any fees need to be brought to school.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Goodbye Korora, Hello Tuatara!

Welcome to the 2016 Year 4/5 blog!

This year, our class name is Tuatara, which means peaks on the back in Maori. The tuatara are reptiles found only in New Zealand and are quite rare. They were around even before dinosaurs!

We think the name suits us because we are adaptable to change and can be easily recognised. Some of us have also been at Wentworth for a long time!

Please visit our blog regularly to find out about our exciting learning adventures.
