It's fun to stay at the YMCA...

The end of Term 1 saw the annual Y4-6 camp at Shakespear Park, which just seems to get better year after year. With sailing, coasteering, mountainboarding, climbing, archery and orienteering all on the menu, it was hard to squeeze in team initiative games, bush cooking and campfire skits - but we managed it! We also made time to help the Rangers by filling in holes along the perimeter pest-exclusion fence.

Excellent work, everybody - enjoy your holidays!

Chess Masters

Armies declared war in the Tuatara Class today! We had Paul from Chess Power visit us to introduce the game of chess. Novices and experts quickly picked up moves, tips and strategies on how to improve their game and were eager to put their new skills to the test....

Picnic Time for Teddy Bears

Tuataras went down to the woods today,
I think they came in disguise.
When Miss Sancto went into her class today,
She couldn't believe her eyes...

Today's the day, the teddy bears had their picnic!

Shape shifters

We love our new geoboards - we have been using them to learn all about polygons!

Potions, gloop and salt....

Year 4 were analysing properties of solids and liquids. As well as being lots of messy fun, the children were trying to define a test to identify the different states of matter. Not an easy task....
