Yes, today was Sports Day at Wentworth Primary and spectators were treated to a dazzling display of our sporting prowess in throwing, running and jumping events.
One of the highlights of the day was the Y5/6 high jump event, with Maddie and Rosie representing our class in the girls' final and Mattias in the final of the boys' competition. Our girls finished in second and third place but Mattias won his event, breaking the longstanding school record with a massive jump of 1m 20cm.
Results are being collated and will be published next week, with our top Y5 & 6 athletes going forward to represent our school in the forthcoming Interschool Athletics competition.
Congratulations to all our competitors! It was a fantastic day and wonderful to see you all doing your best and cheering each other on!
